“Working on the 4012” was taken in June 2026 at the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Built in 1941, the
Union Pacific 4012 “Big Boy” steam engine has been at Steamtown since 1984. Twenty-five Big Boys were built. This is one of eight that remain. This photo was taken during a Pete Lerro photography workshop.
