Autumn at Cass

“Autumn at Cass” was taken in October 2025 at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park in Pocahontas County, West Virginia. The Heisler #6 is seen here leaving the station and passing some freight cars. The Heisler was built in 1929 and is one of 3 types of geared locomotives at Cass, including the Shay and the Climax. It is also the fastest with a speed of 15 mph, thus allowing it to tackle steep grades and rough terrain.
