“The Mighty Big Boys” was taken in June 2026 at the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, Pennsylvania. These Union Pacific Big Boys were built in 1941 by the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) in Schenectady, NY. Of the 25 ever built, only 8 remain. The 4014 is the only one running and is seen here beside the 4012 at Steamtown, marking the first time two Big Boys have been together in over 60 years. This photo was taken during a Pete Lerro photography workshop.
