All Dressed Up

“All Dressed Up” was taken in Afton, Virginia in June 2026. The Norfolk and Western 611 is seen here with a special vinyl wrap, celebrating America’s 250th. The design was inspired by the concept artwork for the 1976 Bicentennial Freedom Train, but was never chosen. The ten stars represent Virginia being the 10th state. Built in 1950, the 611 is the only surviving J Class locomotive and is a fan favorite.
