“McConnells Mill” was taken in August 2026 in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. This gorgeous Mill is situated 40 miles north of Pittsburgh in Slippery Rock Creek Gorge in McConnells Mill State Park. Originally built in 1852, the mill was destroyed by a fire and rebuilt with this structure in 1868. Thomas McConnell replaced the waterwheel and grindstone with water turbines and cylindrical rollers, making it one of the first rolling mills in the United States. The state park was officially dedicated in 1957.
